I have about 2000 dollars to spend. I dont have a lot of room so I was
looking at 42 to 46 inch DLP sets

I went to the dealer they offered me a 46 inch Toshiba with the +2 chip for
2000 dollars, I did not get the number
They said they could upgrade me to the 52 inch 52hmx84 for 100 dollars
more. ( a bit large)
I am thinking of the 42 inch dlp Samsung.
Which is the better choice for picture quality?

perhaps I should look at LCD sets but I think DLP is the future

TIA

52" isn't all that large.

Moe....It may have been the Toshiba 46HM84. This is the tv I got, and in my
opinion much bettey than the Sammys. I've had mine for about 9 months and
love it and constantly get great comments on it's great colors and deep
blacks. At the time I bought it, it had the newer chip than the Sammy, but
Samsung may have put in the new chip by now...I don't know as I'm not
looking at the specs on anything. But I can tell you thi...my local Best Buy
staoe had the 46 inch Samsung next to the biggest Toshiba...I think it's 62
inches ( don't recall ) bith had the same feed from their in house hi def
source and the bigger Toshiba was way better in terms of sharpness, clarity
and colors and contrast. I actually purchased it from www.onecall.com and
got a terrific deal...free shipping, no tax ( as I don't live in Washington
state ) and a $500.00 refund from Toshiba. My overall cost was around
$1600.00 at the time when they were selling the 46 inch at Best Buy for
$2499.00 or $2599.00

I JUST CHECKED ONECALL.COM...... As of 7:42 pm , Pacific time,
July7th...THEIR PRICE WAS $1549.72 AND SHIPPING WAS $168.00

Moe...one more thing, my cousin bought the Samsung and he likes my Toshiba
better than the Samsung, but he could not return it as he got a deal from a
friend who workes for a major electronics store. But the Toshiba...you'll
love it.

Same set is 1799 at costco. I'd look at the new 52HM95 instead
