new guy here, and apologize if this has been discussed before, i didn't find anything...

does the memory speed make a difference for an e8400 I'm planning on getting? because i've looked everywhere about info on this and it doesn't seem to matter. i currently have a e6600 with DDR2 1066 5-5-5-15 patriot RAM and a DFI x38 board... from what i've read this ram will run with the e8400 but will DDR3 1333 make a difference??? idk, i'm so lost on how memory works these days...

Not really. Your safe to run the 8400 with DDR2 memory, more so if you have 1066 memory over 800. (1066 will allow for a higher overclock without worrying about your RAM.)
