I have a g0 Q6600 overclocked to 3.0 ghz with 9x multiplier. CPU VID 1.30000
Ram 800 mhz 4-4-4-12.

Xigmatek hdt-rs1283 and Arctic Silver 5
Gigabyte P35 s3g

The temps idle around 34-38 CORETEMP/29-35 REALTEMP

when i tested with occt, however the temperature shot up to 55-60 C on coretemp, 52-58 real temp

I have no idea what this is caused by.

Is it the way to apply thermal seal. I just applied one line through the middle like said the the Arctic silver website.

What should i do?

thank you all for your help

my current voltage is 1.2685 v at 3.0

Duh. OCCT kicks it in high gear and stresses everything. Thats the point. Obviously the temps at load will be more then temps at idle. It looks fine to me. Unlucky for you, you got a high VID chip.

WEll maybe after vdroop but your VID is what the chip needs @ stock. If it is 1.2685, it definately wont be stable.

the pc is stable after testng occt for 4 hours with side panel opened. temps were 55-57.

But how come there is such a high change from idle to load, while many people's i'ce seen increase only a couple degrees

it depends on your cooler, your overclock, ambient temp, plus a whole pile of other things. Not to mention the fact that sensors can be off by quite a bit and need to be calibrated. read this thread about temps:

Yeah, it looks normal to me too. And 1.2685 is definitely stable, considering you have G0 stepping. I got mine stable at 1.24375v @ 3.0 (I have moved up to 3.2 since). 1.24 is only 1.22 after vdroop!

Your temperatures are fine. Shoot to keep them under ~60 C at full load. If you just applied the Arctic Silver, it has a burn-in period of around 200 hours, after which your temps should drop 2-3 C.

By the way, I would actually lower your voltage. Seriously, most people get 3.0 with stock voltage - easily. 1.25 in your BIOS should do the trick, and it would probably get you at least 1 C cooler.
