Hello. My wife's laptop has had an error show up for multiple days in a row. The message says "A hard drive in the system reports that it may fail". It's really freaking me out so I just want to get a cheap replacement that is reliable and has a decent amount of storage. Preferably as cheap as possible.

Her computer is Gateway MT6704 Intel CPU T2250 @ 1.73 GHz with Vista 32bit.

If you need any more info, please let me know :)

Suggest you install a 2nd drive ASAP to back up your data. You might not get another warning. Best to spend $70-100 now before the drive dies, and save your data. Depending on the amount of data you have on board the old drive suggest you buy a name brand Seagate or Western Digital hard drive; "reseller" brands of drives may be Ok. Life expectancy of a drive is not stated in the specs. My experience with reseller drives is not good so far. Reseller drives are about the same price and look like the name brand seller's product, but not sure who makes those drives? Quality control levels are not advertised in either.
