i really want to get a stable mobo (one that has been stress tested and proved to stand strong) for a new pc am setting up.need to get a mobo that can support a q6600 and has dual sli setup.want to setup two 8800gt cards.dont have money for ddr3 mobo.my budget is between $100 at the most $220..really want to make the right choice and so any input is welcomed...

That Asus won't do SLI. You need to look at the boards with Nvidia chipsets

^Agreed. However the X38 will do CrossFire.

Just a curious question. What resolution are you going to be running this system with? It would help if you would list all of your parts that you have or are planning on having. Right now I probably wouldn't get a SLI capable mobo, since there have been alot of issues with some of the newer nVidia SLI chipsets, but that is just my opinion.

1600x1200 res.
q6600/2gb/evga 8800gt 512mb/320gb.wanted a long term mobo.thats why i wanted the dual sli.are there any good older(2007) sli chipsets?
