Nice links pauldh even as an SLI user/lover I was quite shocked [:mousemonkey:6] at the performance margin a pair of G92 GT's have over a single Ultra, let alone the GTX. Thank you for the warm fuzzy feeling [:mousemonkey:3]

My buddy has a 24" with Tri-sli and i almost lost my composure. I am imagining 2 GTS 512's would look pretty comparable. Granted his Tri-sli setup is.... buggy. If he turns settings down it gets worse performance. He has to max everything out to get higher frames. Odd.. Anyways, I am sure 2 of these would max ANYTHING out.. well maybe not crysis, but that's like the red headed step child of PC games.

My 8800GT's have ripped a new butthole in everything I have thrown at them so far, only NFSMW (CPU bottleneck) and the aforementioned Crysis have let the side down.

My single 8800GTS 512 on a 22" runs like a champ. COD4 Maxed, World in Conflict maxed exept AAx4 AFx4, UT4 maxed, Pretty much everything. Crysis I run on High. I've hooked it up to my 42" lcd 1080p at 1900x1080 or whatever it is and I had to bring down COD4 a little bit in the texture settings, but it still ran at 50-60 FPS.

with 2x8800GTS's you will be set my friend.

Can't wait to see the video cards start to dominate the 30" kingdom! 2560x1600...now that's serious resolution!

Dude, first you have to afford the 30" display... and then you need to afford the cards. Not in my budget. But would be awesome to see.

rofl.

1-2k for a shiny Dell 30''. 600-1000 for a dual card setup to run it. and then the rest of your system. Man that's a lot of dough.

Aye but there is some logic here.

1. It will be a very very long time before you need to upgrade your monitor! I'm a believer in the fact that you will never need anything bigger than a 30" monitor...the only way to get usefully bigger is with a projector.

2. This system should last you a long time. If you are really really broke after buying the system you can always keep it for a long time with the SLI capabilities. You could purchase a smaller gaming monitor and continue to get excellent performance from the SLIed cards, although this is a less-than-ideal situation.

Heh my single 8800GT works nice too on my 24", so I would vote awesome for how two GTS's would look.

Really doesn't have the money to buy it himself. He has serious issues. That was his tax return. He actually have a side business of building gaming PC's for people. He is looking to sell it on ebay once he has it OCed stable and configured properly.

Well hopefully there person who he sells it to is using a 30" monitor with crazy resolution and not a 17 or 19 inch monitor, though I'm sure your friend could care less.

 You're quite welcome.

Have you done any single vs dual card testing? Try it in Crysis Paradise Lost level; wow what a difference.

I have not done as much with these 88's but I did quite a bit with the 7900GT's that these replaced, my main issue at the moment is the 939 2ghz CPU I'm using which will soon be replaced by 'other' most likely on a 680i mobo.
