my current system looks the following:
1gb ram ddr1
pentium 4 - 3ghz
XFX nVidia 6600gt ddr3 pci-e
i want to upgrade the last one, and its meant to be a temporary solution, cause within 1.5 years im going to study an ill get a high end notebook from the universety.
Well lets come to the point:
i want a new graphics card, and i have the choise of the following cards:
-XFX 8600gt 512mb DDR2
-XFX 8600gt 256mb DDR3
-NVGA 8600gt 512mb DDR2
-HDI 3650 512mb
-HDI HD2600XT
dont have more options because of my low budget and the company were i bought my pc, i still have a year of guarantee
and they only have the cards above in the price range of 80-100 euros
umm dude u might wanna first boost up your RAM a little bit and i pretty much agree dev1se on the graphic card.however if u want a notebook in the futre well it may not have the best grpahic card like a PC would so i dont know its the futre.
1. Upgrading your ram should be your first priority seeing that RAM is ridiculously cheap these days and the 1GB to 2GB performance difference is huge.
2. A lot of times upgrading a part on your comp voids the warranty. I would check that. (you specified that your PC has a year left on it)
3. Please tell us what your slot is for your motherboard. It does make a difference.
4. How much is a euro in US? And many parts you cant get from the US to where ever you live!!

1. well er i use windows xp that first, so 1 gb ram is suffiecient not?
2. i buy the parts from the company i have warrenty for, so my warrenty isnt lost. Only problem; they dont have all parts u can think off.
3. I have pci-express slot for my video card on my motherboard. Hope u mean this by "slot for your motherboard", otherwise i dont know.
4. 1,5 dollar = 1 euro
