I been recently searching about AMD chipset based motherboard in the search for the adequate product for my almost non-exist budget.
So... I read various reviews, forums and such...
I was thinking in the 780G, maybe the GA-MA78GM-SH2, because the price/performance match what i was after...
But today, out of nowhere, a significant number of models based in the chipsets 740G and 780V were released.
And the range of makers were high: MSI, Gigabyte, ECS, Jetway...
So my questions is: what are the pros and cons of this 2 chipsets against the 780G?
Of the big amount of models there is one how offer a best "bang for the bucks" that the GA-MA78GM-SH2?
I need more info about this "new" chipsets, because every dolar count.
Thanks in advance.

Think of the 780G as the "flagship" model with all the goodies enabled and think of the 780V as the next in line, missing some of those extras, and finally think of the 740G as the "low-end" dont touch it ever.

Basically stick with your guns, the 780G is a home run hit for AMD and i suggest you buy the Gigabyte 780G as that has gotten great reviews.

The 740G is essentially an re-badged 690G with a new south bridge, it's not worth buying.

The 780V is a lower-clocked 780G, so it is definitely worth building a system around.

The 780G would be better (because of the higher clock, and the UVD), but the 780V would be decent for some games at low detail and 800x600 resolution (or 1024x768). Overall, if you're doing any 3D gaming, a discrete video card would be advisable. The HD 4650 is a good card for ~$50, and cheaper cards can be had that will perform many times better than IGPs (typically 2-3x). The HD 4350 is ~2.5x better than the 780G and can be picked up at Newegg for $32.

I'm planing to buy this board ASUS M3A78-CM AM2+/AM2 AMD 780V Micro ATX AMD Motherboard paired with G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500), AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma and Hd4770. my LCD screen resolution is 1440 by 900. It would be perfect. Good luck finding the 4770, though, as it has been out of stock at most places since the week it came out. The 4670 or 4830 are decent substitutes for that resolution. Consider the Athlon II X2 250 or Phenom II X2 550 that just came out today instead of the 7750. The "II" series of processors have much higher instructions per clock (pretty much match the Core 2 processors) whereas Kuma is ~15% slower per clock.

Looks like the Athlon II/Phenom II X2 processors aren't available yet. If it's in the budget a Phenom II X3 710 ($120) would be a substantial upgrade from the 7750.

The 780G would be better (because of the higher clock, and the UVD), What do you mean by this higher clock, means you can overclock better and what is UVD? And how about running it in Screen ressolution 1440 by 900 using 17" wide screen lcd.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma or upgrade to Phenom II X2 550 if the price is right :)

Hd4770 ( I have one of this now )

You should be fine given your configuration you listed. I replied thinking you were wanting to use integrated graphics for gaming, but because you have the 4770 the 1440*900 should be no problem.
