Hi, I am building a PC with the following specs:

EVGA 780i mobo
Quad Core Q9550 2.83GHz, plan to OC, but nothing extreme
Triple GTX 280 XXX OC edition in Tri-SLI
8GB DDR2-1066 RAM
Dual 300GB 10k rpm Velociraptors
1250w PSU

The case will me a CM 932 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160 because ive heard great things about it, such as being very roomy with great airflow.

But I'm definitely worried about heat. With 3 gtx 280s, dual velociraptors, and an OC'd quad core, I know this will generate insane heat. The case already comes with 3 230mm and 1 140mm fans, but I know its not enough.

So basically, what I'm wondering is how I should air cool this rig? How many and which fans I should buy, what CPU cooler/heatsink to get, where to place fans, etc. I really appreciate if anyone can help me on this

Thank you.

Also, water cooling really is not an option I'm afraid, because it will cost ridiculous amounts($1000+) for this setup.

Three GTX 280s is too many in my opinion, what a waste of cash.

Just figured I would make this thread look like all the others you have started over this.

Anyways, like u thought was obvious if u want to air cool, put in FANS whoa that was hard. If I recall u called me out for saying something like that. Obviously it was too hard of a concept.

So u get some heatsinks, one for the cpu (Xigmatek S-1283, TRUE, Sunbeam Core Contact) and if u want 3 for the 280 that are tri sli certified (but i havent seen any yet, there are almost no heatsinks for the GTXs) and buy fans and AC MX-2 TIM. Then u install the fans and heatsinks and voila

How much do you know about watercooling to start with? If your new at this like we all were once, please read for a few days before asking basic questions. Many questions will be answered by yourself once you learn.

Here is a primer of places to go, cya in a few days. I have this as a document, just cut n paste every week or so for questions like your asking.

I'll steer you to some more technical links, please spend a few days (DAYS) reading posts, searching, learning.

Great place, not wayyy over the top with uber WC guys.

Dude, you asked the same question in 3 diffrent threads, got the same answer in all of them and come to ask it again!
No matter how many times you ask, the answer will be the same.

LOL
I betcha you are right on that one.
Just had to double check, the 4870x2 only has one CrossFire connection.
How much FAIL can you have in a single thread :pt1cable:

Ditch your stubborness and go reread the threads. Multiple answers were mentioned in those threads and it doesn't justify to keep trolling the forums asking the same damn question. :non:

I have used them before, good selection of all kinds of modding gear, but watch out for the markup. They are a little pricey.

These guys are decent for cooling supplies too.
