I block time warner's T C P address and in return they block my connections to most sites and also my microsoft email account---can I get around these people? They have their nose in everything I do.To connect to most sites, I must unblock their ip address

Of course they have their nose in everything you do... they are your ISP. You are blocking your gateway to the internet. How can your expect their DNS server to work to resolve IP addresses you enter if you block their IP address from returning the route to your requested destination?

If you want total privacy, then the rule of thumb is not to connect to the internet at all.

Why are you blocking them, and what do you mean "in return they block you"? Your actions of blocking IPs is what is causing the issue, not what they are doing. What you want is a bit like saying "I am boycotting all oil companies, how do I drive my car?"
