These are what I have:

Asus P5Q Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
OCZ DDR2 PC2-8000 / 1000 MHz / 4GB Platinum Edition
Asus Radeon HD 4850 512MB
Antec Nine Hundred Case
OVZ StealthXstream 600W PSU
Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

I would like to overclock my Q6600 to 3.0 Ghz. I have looked around a lot and there is no walk through that teaches me how to overclock with my exact specs.

Someone please tell exactly how to overclock my Q6600 from 2.4 ghz to 3.0 ghz with the parts I have.

Btw, I do not have an aftermarket CPU cooler yet. Should I got one for that level of overclocking?
Is going from 2.4 ghz to 3.0 considered a huge level of overclocking?
How far would I be able to go with a stock cooler?
I heard my Antec Nine Hundred is good for keeping cool too...
Someone help.. Thanks a lot!!

no need for a aftermarket cooler at the moment if you only aiming at 3Ghz.but its always nice to get a aftermarket cooler just to keep it running cooler and therefore prolong the life span of the CPU even though i dont think it will die anyway.

remember ALWAYS go to change your vcore to your VID value, change ram multilpier to 1:1/2.00, ram voltage to 1.9v and its timing to 5-5-5-18 before OCing. this is what i do anyway.upto you to follow or not.:)

If your temps are below 60C then you won't need an aftermarket cooler. FYI according to Intel, the maximum temperature for G0 Q6600s is 71 C.
