I'm upgrading my graphics card in the next couple of days.
i'm going from Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS AGP to an Nvidia 9600 GT

i just want to know how much of an upgrade it is. i've looked and can't find any stats on the card i currently have.

Thank you all

I am not aware that nVidia has a 9600GT planned that will go in a AGP slot. To my knowledge it's a PCI 2.0 card which means you'd need a new MoBo before you could consider that card.

Im also fairly sure there isnt an AGP version, ATI make a 3850 in AGP though.
Either way one or the other of those cards will make a lot of differance, depending on the rest of your system of course.
If you have a big enough PSU to power it and a fast enough CPU the differance will be night and day. :D

The difference is colossal.

Here's a chart that approxomates video card prowess by tier:

9600 GT is third from the top, the 7600 GS is on the 13th tier...
