I actually built this system last Month, but I thought for the heck of it I would share, and give people the opportunity to ask questions should they feel the need.

Coolermaster ATC-200 (circa 2001)
Seasonic M12-700w PSU

Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6 Mobo
E8400 ($183 MC sale FTW)
Visiontek HD3870X2 (another MC sale $383!)
Mushkin Extreme DDR2-1066 (2x1GB)
Western Digital RE2 500GB SATAII HDD
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Platinum
Samsung 20x DVD/CDRW SATA Drive
Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit
Razer Boomslang CE2007
Viewsonic VP930b 19" LCD Monitor (i got this in late 06, still nice)
Sennheiser HD590 Headphones (fantastic, but discontinued for several years now)

___________________________________________________________________________
I have plans to add a 22" Widescreen Viewsonic (VP2250wb)
and I would have liked to have Snapped up a Silverstone TJ04 Mid-Tower Case, but alas, i had to pinch pennies somewhere.

Ultimately, I also got a CM Hyper 212 HSF, but it wouldn't let me close the side of my case, and the NB chipset gets alot hotter than my CPU seems to, so i opted to not pry off the "crazycool" backside Heatsink for now.

Initial testing shows;
14,614 3dMark06 stock; OC to 3.73 + mild gfx OC = 16,730
Currently sitting happily at 3.6GHz on an Intel D-Series HSF (Copper Core) @ 1.280v
Ram I've kept relatively stock EPP settings 1096@ 2.10v 5-5-4-12. I have gotten them to 1120MHz without relaxing timings, and I can probably go faster.

in all it's glory before i swapped back to OEM cooling.

Looks good! You could probably use a modular PSU to clean up the cables, but you can't complain about the results!

22" monitor will be sweet ;)

Yeah, I got quite a few things from Microcenter. In Fact, they currently have a deal to get a Q6600 for $199.99 :D

Beurling; The Seasonic M12 actually *IS* a semi-modular PSU. the cable clutter is from the fact that I still have a floppy Drive (great to keep around for RAID controllers) and an Soundblaster "Live Drive" front Panel (cept it's X-FI, heh) both of which needs an adaptor. The cables from the 4 80mm Fans have Molex Connectors with Passthrough, so that adds to it. Ideally, again, I woulda Loved to get that Silverstone Case.

I checked out there online store and somethings are better priced at newegg and vise versa. I have been to one of there stores in Cleveland OH a few months ago and It is a pretty good place to shop. The one in IL are about an hour and a half from me so unless I want to take a road trip online will be a better bet for me. Thanks again.

yes, that sounds strange to me. I usually pop into the one in the Detroit area, as it's stock for all except the most recent items, and since thanksgiving, RAM, have been very nice. They seem to put alot of product through there as it seems like HOT items that they get alot of are cleared out within a week or two. they had CM690s for $20 and those were GONE inside of a week.
