More Information

Specs:
XP SP2 and all updates since then
Asus M2N-MX mobo (socket AM2, nForce chipset)
2.2 gig AMD XP 64 dual core
2 gig Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800
Asus nVidia 7600GS

I haven't overclocked at all or anything of the sort. All my other drivers are up to date.

My problem is I downloaded the new nForce chipset drivers to update my MOBO drivers and the installation went fine, but I had a couple of wierd message like windows detecting new hardware during the driver installation and asking me for the location of the drivers.

So I followed the onscreen instructions and everything went fine, I rebooted but had no ethernet. Windows kept detecting some generic "PCI device" or something and asking me for drivers. Of course I couldn't get them as I had no internet.

So I was forced to reinstall the old chipset drivers from my mobo disc.

What is the deal with these drivers? Did they just not include the Gigbit LAN drivers?

I'm upgrading to a AMD 64+ X2 2.6g Black edition and OCing to 3.0 and also adding another 2 gigs of Crucial. I need these updated chipset drivers to work properly, before I attempt the upgrades and OC.

Thank you for any help.
