We installed Office Home 2000 and now when we go to shut down computers, we get error message that Toshiba ServiceS is open. Need to close before we can shut down. HOw do I get rid of this message?

Take the app home office 2000 out of startup, if you are not using it every time you turn your computer on. Evidently it is not releasing memory to allow shutdown to complete. May be a hint in "Event Viewer".

I am a computer novice. I don't have Office icon on my start up screen, so I'm not sure what you are talking about. Also where do I find "Event Viewer" ? Thank you

1 - Start - Run - msconfig
Click on startup Tab. Look for ms office 2000 and uncheck it, to keep it from loading at startup time.

2 - Event Viewer - Right click my computer, click manage, click Event Viewer.
Then click each tab and look for red X errors at time you shutdown.
Unfortunately, the errors are pretty cryptic, as Billy Gates thinks everyone is a GD Computer programmer ! :fou:  - But there may be a hint as to the problem.
