Uninstalling Vista to install Win 7-any problems to watch for?

I have heard from others that sometimes there can be problems uninstalling Vista to upgrade to Windows 7. I believe that you can back up everything that's on your hard drive, then format the disk, then install the windows 7 disc and it should work. Anyone ever have problems performing this task? Thanks for all responses.

Other peoples problems may not be yours conversely yours, not theirs.
To minimize your problems run the Windows 7 Upgrade advisor to see what may not be compatible on your computer..
