Hello,

I have a sony vaio VGN-CR 36G which has an inbuilt camera which was working fine untill this morning. Now the camera cannot be detected. When i go to the device manager there is no " Imaging device" icon as well. Can anyone help please?

Reinstall drivers from Sony.

Or use generic YAWCAM installation. (YetAnotherWebcam)

BTW, did you have a recent Windows Update ? ?

Thanks. Yaw cam doesnt work as my comp says no camera device found.

I updated the driver. Thankfully i see the camera under the imaging device list. But status says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" and there is a yellow mark on it.

Interestingly, the camera worked yesterday but went kaput again this morning.

No, I didnt do any updates.

Sounds like the device itself is faulty, If it worked yesterday, not today, and no updates to driver.

OK so last nite I did a windows update. Now in the device manager, it show the " sony visual communication camera VGP-VGG6. The driver are "arcsoft" which i presume are a standard. However, when i turn on the camera its say unable to initiate device. Some other program may be using the device"

I uninstalled it and re installed it but same problem. Any thoughts?
