F6 floppy install for xp pro

trying to install xp pro on a vista laptop its a Gateway have the drivers windows reads the disk the first time so it finds the hd but when it starts ton load the files it says it can't copy the iastor.sys but its own the the floppy drive is usb need help

So, let me see if i can get this straight, you have a Gateway that you are trying to convert to Windows XP. When you insert the Install disc from Microsoft, it begins to load, but then says that it can not copy the "iastor.sys" file. BUT you do have a copy of thsi file on the floppy drive and the floppy drive is attached to the computer via a USB cable?
