Any contemporary PDA should deal with the tasks you describe. If you are
looking for an inexpensive one, you might wish to look into the Palm V or
Palm M100 series. You can get a second-hand M100 (/105/125/130) --
sometimes even boxed -- for under GBP 20 on eBay.

Anything - Palm or PC.
You just need an application to support the functionality.
In this case, I'd say "Pocket Excel" (or whatever they call the itty-bitty
version of MS Excel that runs on Palms)

Docs-To-Go from Dataviz, but it's not free. Often it comes with the Palm
software package, but in any case there are free spreadsheet applications
as well.

I just got a Z31 to make a gift to a friend. Helping her to install it I
found out that there is a simple database application in the CD
"MobileDB" by Handmark with a pc application also, something that was
missing from my Z72. I think this is a cheap solution.
