Hello, I'm an experienced builder and I made a topic a while back picking out the best parts for my new gaming machine. Here is a newegg public wish list of the items, as well as a list of them here. I haven't been around in a month, so I want to know which parts are a ripoff deal, so if there's something here you would change, make it known.

Few tidbits: Budget is around $1,300 USD

Concerns:
Mobo: Don't see myself doing Sli for a while, anything cheaper with same functionality?
Case: Will it fit my GPU fine? Seems like a tight fit.
CPU: Are there any better gaming processors than the e8400 that have come out, where can I find one in stock?
(If not, what is the closest thing to the e8400)
Is the RAM I choose a good choice?
(I already have one pair)

Thanks for answering anything, here is a list of parts as well as a link

Only comment I would make is maybe consider the Antec 900 case the rest of your components are solid except maybe the mobo but unfortunately I do not know anything about that motherboard.

Though from looking at your video card selection you are not going with SLI or Crossfire for that matter and with only 1 hard drive selected so you aren't going with RAID either so I would then offer as a consideration: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L (rock-solid motherboard).

Also you may pick up another hd 1st OS & Programs 2nd Games, Video, MP3's, Data, etc (ghost image of OS\Programs drive).

Also the cpu cooler you selected is awesome for low to moderate OC but if you plan to do some HIGH OC you may want to consider a:

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler

when you say mobo with same functionality, you mean sli right? if so the 750i is only 150$.

Unless you plan on SLI the motherboard is useless. Get a P35-DS3x or P5K-x instead, depending on your needs WiFi,RAID,etc. If you plan to OC get some thing better than the AF7. Every thing else looks good :). You might want to get a Corsair 520HX or PP&C 610 (better ones imo)  instead of the OCZ. For OCing get a Zalman CPN9700 or some thing like that.

I don't think you're going to find an E8400. If you do, don't tell anyone except me.

Hello guys, all my parts arrived, I went with an E6850 because I could not find a E8400, either way my new PC is very fast. I haven't gotten a chance to run many games but from the few I've tested I get over 100FPS Average with 8xAA, amazing.

Just don't spill it on the motherboard. Sounds like everything is fine with your build.
