I have had a working pc for almost a year now and yesterday I decided to update my system files.

I updated my Striker Extreme Bios to 1503 using ASUS-Update from inside of Vista and it said everything was ok and that windows needed to restart. After clicking on yes and letting the os restart I waited for about 5 min and nothing happened so I pressed my restart button and the computer started to boot in the normal fashion. about half way through the boot i get a blinking white line and
then "unable to find operating system"

I then tried to use vista DVD to try a startup repair but it can not find any OS installed to repair as well.

During start up and while in the BIOS menu it shows that my 2 drives are there so I don't understand why they are MIA.

What can I do to get the motherboard to find my OS again?

Vista 32 SP1
EVGA 768-P2-N831-AR 8800GTX
Intel® Core 2 Duo E6700 Conroe Processor 2.67GHz,
2 Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4D 2GBDDR2-800 XMS2-6400
2 Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3500630AS 500GB
Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty

Is your HD boot priority correct? If the PC attempts to boot from the wrong HD you'll get a OS not found message. Also don't flash your bios from Vista. In my experience the asus tool tends to mess up way too often.

I first tried the HD boot order and that gave me "disk boot failure, insert system disk" error so I changed it back and I turned raid back on and everything is back to working order. Guess I forgot I had raid set up in the first place. Thanks for your help!

Don't ever update your BIOS using asus update. Either use EZFlash, afudos or any DOS flashing utility. Asus update is known to cause many corrupt flashes resulting in bricks. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.
