More Information

Hi,

I have two sata drives (same brand and size) and I would like to add a third drive, and set up those two drives as a raid (so that they mirror each other). I also have to reformat, so I would like to just install windows on the 3rd (new) drive, from there format the two current drives, and then set them up so that they mirror each other. I dont know that much about computers (I guess its easy to see that ;-) but I managed to custom built this machine I'd like to upgrade...my specific questions would be:

+ does this make sense? is there something I'm not seeing? any info/tips?
+ I know how to conect the sata drive to the motherboard (the phisical conection, by searching the web), but how do I tell windows (or maybe set the MB) that my new drive becomes the C drive? am I right in asuming that if I manage to do this, then the C drive will be empty (because it will be my new drive), and I will be able to install windows as I did back when I first put together the computer?

My MB is an ASUS P5VDC-MX, if that helps...my last question would be if setting the raid (so that one 250gb drive mirrors the other one) is something hard to do...I wont do that at first, but the whole idea is being able to do it eventually...

thanks ;-)
Carlos
