How good would 2 of these be? A guy is trying to sell 2 7900 gt's that he had in an SLI setup, right now they are less than 100 bucks, good deal or not? Considering right now I'm running an old 7300 LE that I had grabbed to hold me over till I could get a better card. But I got an SLI board and Athlon x2 5200 at Christmas. What do you guys think? How would these 2 cards perform?

$100 I suppose isnt bad depending on condition. I haven't seen the benchmarks but I'm willing to bet that a single 9600GT would beat out an 7900GT SLI setup. For $50 more I think a 9600GT would be a better investment.

Have to side with pchoi04 on this. A 9600 GT would at least perform close to those cards in SLI, plus would allow you to add a second later for more power. Not to mention how the 9600 GT is so far the greatest card for SLI (it handles it better than any other card so far.)

I haven't seen a head to head match up but there probably about equal or the 9600GT might be a little better. But I dont think the difference would be a huge. Maybe a few FPS here and there.

Stay away from the dual 7900GT's. You are better off with a single 8800GS or 9600GT.

And a 680/1600 8800GS should hang pretty close to the 9600GT. Confusing charts, but here is a 550/1600 (reference) 8800GS vs 9600GT. http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5911&Itemid=40&limit=1&limitstart=1

Here you can see the XFX (680/1600) 8800GS is way ahead of that same reference 8800GS. The clocks seem to bring it half way up to the 8800GT. http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5354&Itemid=40&limit=1&limitstart=1
