'The Intel Q6600 runs equally as hot as a Presler Pentium D 930, but performs MUCH better'

How true is the above statement?

I know Q6600 is hooter than average because it's a two dual core slapped into a single die.
The speedcan be alots faster... If the application has support for Dual/Multicore, that it. Since most of them do nowadays I can pretty much say it Much faster than the old Intel.

How is 32c idle and 50c load when OC'ed to 3GHz sound?

It does run a bit hotter than a dual but not by much. It is pretty cool to tell you the truth.

Those are my temps and it runs cooler than my old P4 EE.

I wouldn't be that suprised if the old B3 stepping of the Q6600 ran as hot as a PentiumD 930, but the new G0 stepping has improved the efficiency a lot.

It does run a little warm but its worth the difference in performance. I run a TT V1 on mine and it's cool.

They are both rated at a TDP of 95w for what that is worth.

I suspect they will use about the same amount of power, but the D930 is not even in the same class of processor for performance.

If its good in theory but not in practice,
its not good theory.
