I'm sorry to be telling you this, but if the card IS a pci express card, it will not work or fit in an agp slot. agp and pci are not compatible.

Im not sure its a PCI card though because the guy told me that it was AGP. The only reason why I think it is PCI is because it has a crossfire connector and lacks a power connector like most 2600xt AGP cards have. Will it harm the card any if it is PCI and I try it in my AGP computer?

It's quite simple.. either it fits or it dosen't.. if it fits your are good to go. If not, it's a PCIe and there is nothing you can do about it. (No, I won't recommend using a hammer)

Crossfire on AGP? Doesnt exist.

So the card is 100% PCI-Express.

The person wrongly listed the card.

I believe its a blessing in disguise. Sell your old mobo and CPU and get a new PCI-Express motherboard (possibly a Crossfire one)...

Like one of the above posters mentioned. If it fits into your motherboard it's AGP. You'd break a PCI-e card before fitting it into an AGP slot. On the other hand, if that picture is the actual picture of the card (which it doesn't look like it is, due to quality of picture), then it's definitely PCI-e.

Try plugging it in, if you still aren't sure, just upload a picture and post it so we can tell you for sure.

You can easily tell AGP from PCI-e from looking at them. Look at the slot.

AGP - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.aspx?CurImage=14-102-718-05.jpg&Image=14-102-718-03.jpg%2c14-102-718-04.jpg%2c14-102-718-05.jpg%2c14-102-718-06.jpg%2c14-102-718-07.jpg%2c14-102-718-08.jpg%2c14-102-718-09.jpg%2c14-102-718-02.jpg&S7ImageFlag=0&WaterMark=1&Item=N82E16814102718&Depa=0&Description=SAPPHIRE+Radeon+HD+2600XT+100229L+Video+Card

PCIe - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.aspx?CurImage=14-102-703-05.jpg&Image=14-102-703-03.jpg%2c14-102-703-04.jpg%2c14-102-703-05.jpg%2c14-102-703-06.jpg%2c14-102-703-07.jpg%2c14-102-703-08.jpg%2c14-102-703-02.jpg&S7ImageFlag=0&WaterMark=1&Item=N82E16814102703&Depa=0&Description=SAPPHIRE+Radeon+HD+2600XT+100218L+Video+Card

Also, if it's agp it would have a rialto bridge chip on the back side.
Pink square above the AGP slot: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.aspx?CurImage=14-102-718-05.jpg&Image=14-102-718-03.jpg%2c14-102-718-04.jpg%2c14-102-718-05.jpg%2c14-102-718-06.jpg%2c14-102-718-07.jpg%2c14-102-718-08.jpg%2c14-102-718-09.jpg%2c14-102-718-02.jpg&S7ImageFlag=0&WaterMark=1&Item=N82E16814102718&Depa=0&Description=SAPPHIRE+Radeon+HD+2600XT+100229L+Video+Card

Notice PCI-e version doesn't have this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.aspx?CurImage=14-102-703-05.jpg&Image=14-102-703-03.jpg%2c14-102-703-04.jpg%2c14-102-703-05.jpg%2c14-102-703-06.jpg%2c14-102-703-07.jpg%2c14-102-703-08.jpg%2c14-102-703-02.jpg&S7ImageFlag=0&WaterMark=1&Item=N82E16814102703&Depa=0&Description=SAPPHIRE+Radeon+HD+2600XT+100218L+Video+Card

And as others have said, you physically can't put a PCI-e 16x card into your AGP slot, so it should be real obvious to you before any damage would happen.

Just had to add..... I'd be peeved. Two totally different values. Cheapest HD2600XT PCI-e on newegg is $50 AR. Cheapest AGP version is $100 AR.

I believe this is called Fraud. But then again, the picture is of what you got...

Regardless, I'd consider this a good opportunity to buy an E8400 and new mobo.

I know this thread is old, but that's not correct, and needs to be mentioned.

Xfire connector is only available on PCIe models, they do not come on AGP or PCI or PCI-X models only PCIe.
