Ipconfig still not showing ip address

Hello,
I cant connect to the internet, i recently had to reboot my system and lost all of my information because of a virus. The command prompt does not display an ip address, and when i typed in ipconfig/realease and renew i get nothing. There is no ip address. Can someone please help me, dell would like to charge me $99 for a one time fee!!!! Thanks so much

How are you connecting to the internet? Through a wired or wireless router or directly to a cable modem or DSL modem or ...?

Did your ISP provide you with a fixed IP Address or automatically assigned via their DHCP servers?

What does running ipconfig /all show? Give us some information to work with.

Running Windows 7 Enterprise and when I run ipconfig alone or with any variable I get nothing but a quick screen flash and back to the prompt.
