Trying to put together a cheap system for my cousin because AoC is coming out in a few weeks. He currently is running:

P4 2.8HT
2gig DDR400
X1300XT 256mb AGP
single original Raptor drive

I currently have for him to borrow (cause I'm a nice guy)
8800gts superclocked 320
550watt thermaltake purepower
core 2 duo E6300
80gig SATA 2 drive

He has a case and a dvd-cdrom drive

Need a motherboard that would be cheap but a good overclocker. Was looking at the gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L but any other suggestions would be great, especially if its cheaper.

That's good choice. Currently, the only chipset board that ocs better is x38/48, but it's far more expensive.

p35, any of them will do, i have managed to overclock with a msi p35 neo2-fr, newegg ( 110$), with great results, i even used an asus, and a gigabyte motherboard as well, I do like the gigabyte boards but msi built this one pretty good, i got a q 6600 up to 4 ghz and I am getting a qx9650 this week so ill see how it does with that, but for the money and it even includes crossfire with raid as well.

Sweet. Thanks for the confirmation. Just trying to help out my cousin cause he's been unemployed for awhile and unable to find another job thanks to Michigans 6.8 or is it 7.8% unemployment rate.
