If I were to upgrade the motherboard and CPU on my computer, but keep the same RAM, video card and hard drive, would I have to reformat the hard drive or can I just reconnect everything?

Also, if I wanted to change/add a video card or RAM, I wouldn't need to reformat my hard drive, right?

In all likelyhood,as soon as you start to load windows, your comp will bluescreen.Ocassionaly you can get away with just re-installing the chipset drivers, but that seldom happens unless you stay with the same MB manufacturer with a similar chipset.I have found that it's best to re-install when you change your motherboard, thereby avoiding any unwanted conflicts with windows or hardware.Goodluck.

My experience on this matter, if you did none of what they say, and just do a repair install of your windows, you should be ok.
