Hi all
I got Crucial Ballistic Redline DDR2 800 4G(2x2) and someone told me that
Crucial Ballistic memories are known of raising the voltage and getting hot and fried within max. 3month
In other words if I set the voltage to 2.1V they will be working actually at voltage higher than 2.1
Is it true ??
If it is true any solution ??
Need urgent help

I don't see how. It's not like the ram has any choice than using whatever voltage the motherboard feeds it. I have heard of 650i/680i chipset motherboards feeding ram high voltage and frying them though. :p

ASUS boards in particular like to give more voltage than what is set in BIOS, but this can easily be verified by looking in Hardware Monitor.

On an ASUS Maximus like mine a settin in BIOS of 2.2 is actually like 2.27
2.10 gives me 2.19.

I have been running mine (4x1GB) at 2.25v for nearly 1 year w/ no problems. These were rated for 2.2v @ 4-4-4-4-12.

Ballistix have a lifetime warranty :bounce: . I have also heard that they don't care about overvolting, but that might just be a rumor.
