Hope that its gonna happen, then I can get rid of this 4800 x2 and get me a 5000 BE, put that baby at 3.1, and be that much faster (err, my computer will be, hehe)

Going from a 4800 x2 to a 5000 BE seems like an unnecessarily small upgrade.  I may pick up a 5000 BE myself to replace my 3800.  Spec'ed out a computer for $260 after shipping and rebates with no OS or hard drive.  Going to pick up Vista Ultimate at school for $19 :D.

Well, the 5000 BE will OC better.  I think that's what he's going for.  The price cuts on the Phenoms have already sort of started at Newegg.  I hope to see some new chips and lower prices soon as well.

I doubt it will, but that would be sweet if the just released 9850BE would drop as well.

The 9850 is priced a little high, so it is possible; however, AMD may give it a little more time.  I guess we'll know soon.

AMD lists the 9850 @ $235, while they still have the 9600s @ $251.
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processor [...] r=SPDR0010 Which one do you think will change?
At newegg, the 9850 is $243. That's about $16 cheeper than when it first came out.

For some processors the opposite happened.  Now the Phenoms are all screwed up because AMD wants the 9500 and the 9550 to BOTH cost $195.  That caused Newegg to raise the price of the 9500 nearly $30!  Who in their right mind would buy a 9500 over a 9550 if they cost the same?  Oh well, hopefully it will get sorted out soon.

Well the 9850BE dropped by $8.00 on Newegg.  It was originally $243.00, but now it's $235.00 plus free shipping which it originally did not have either.
