Compatibility of printers with Windows 7

I have three HP Model 1020 laser printers. Windows 7 does not like the printer and intermittently "loses" the printer such that I must uninstall and reinstall the printer to clear the spooler. Yes, I downloaded the latest drivers, and it still haunts me. Any suggestions?

Went through the same thing. Do a quick search of the forum here, as I posted a solution for the problem with the 1020. Essentially, you have to do a manual install with the plug and play driver for Vista.
