I was trying to install BF2 so I could play with a friend, but my computer isn't detecting the disk. When I insert the disk an install wizard doesn't automatically pop up and when I go to 'my computer' I don't see the icon of the cd next to my hard drive to activate.

I did reformat my computer to factory settings about 3 days ago. I also used the cds for my d-link cable adapter, drivers, and AOL cd so I know it worked not too long ago. I didn't notice until now because all my games are on Steam. I can't run my BF2 disk or any disk.

I also noticed in 'add hardware' the drivers for ASUS DVD E616A3 are not installed and it gives me this 'Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)'

So I'm assuming thats the problem but Idk what to do. I tried downloading the drivers from http://www.nodevice.com/driver/DVD-E616A3/get41313.html but it didn't work because it said 'no similar device found' and it along with other sites I've looked at on Google don't feel trustworthy.
I tried downloading the drivers from the ASUS site here http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us but it can't find a match.

Your AOL cd? Also, are you sure your DVD drive is the E616A3?

Maybe no drive letter has been assigned to your DVD drive. Try checking it out in Windows Disk Management (enter help and search for disk management; a link leading to the utility should appear). Right click on the hardware you want to assign a drive to and select Assign Drive Letter or something similar.
