More Information

Just installed two Xpert vision 8800gt in sli

can run cod4 at max no problem, but when it comes to 3dmark 06 i only get a score of about 8763.
And crysis can only run at medium at 1600x1050.

im not sure if this is my lack of cpu power and ram but i am puzzled.

also

i  cannot compare single gpu and in sli beacuse nvdia control panel crashes everytime i try to disable sli!!

Cheers

AMD 4000+ at 2.6ghz
3gb ram at 677mhz
750w thermaltake tough
xpert vision 8800gt sli 512mb

You're going to be bottlenecked by the single core A64.

lol the score is what u get with 1x8800GT w/ your AMD 4000+....seriously...its your CPU...u need to buy the e8400 or Q6600 to see the real performance.

I have a AMD 3500 & 8800GT and I get like ~8000 on my 3dmark06. I plan on going  SLI and buying a Quad-core soon.

Yeah you'd of been best buying a good CPU and one 8800GT... and then another card later.

Theres something wrong here. As the OP said "can run cod4 at max no problem" Who cares about bungholio marks? Did the OP actually finish 3D 06? Then IT is over. Its not a game, and those marks arent even relevant to game play. The focus should be on gameplay, not bungholio marks. Sure hed get better bungholio marks using a faster or a multi core cpu, but in the end, "can run cod4 at max no problem" says it all

QMALIK:
i get ~10,000 stock everything, 12,000 heavy OC with my system. thats with one 8800gt so i'd say that CPU is holding him back in benchmarks.

OP:
i assume your native resolution is 1680x1050. you'll get bottlenecked by that CPU. what socket is your MoBo? i'd say spend 60$ more and buy a dual core CPU (X2 series or optys) I assume you have enough money for that, since you've spent 500 on SLi..  :)

true, but what about future games he surely plans to run with his new SLi'd 8800gt's? He won't be happy with the results. Thats why 3dmarks can actually-sometimes-be..helpful  :heink:

Amd 6400 will set you back $180, phenmon over $200

3d mark has nothing to do with games, a E2160 @ 3.0ghz is enough for everygame and that gets like 1800 on 3 d mark, its a joke...

You could ditch Amd and get a E2160 for $65 and a Gigabyte 650sli -ds4 for $80..

Because Mike Rowe said so!

i can run cod4 maxed at 1440x900 19" on a  amd x2 4000  and a ati 1800xl card. I built that one for the kids after I build my e6750 2x8800gts sli rig. Was kinda mad that the amd machine played cod4 so well. neither one will play crisis with all the crap turned on/up.
