HP dvd1070i DVD Writer

When I try to use my hp dvd1070i it often shows " no disc in drive" message. I checked in device manager and it shows HP dvd1070d and some of the drivers are not signed. I tried to look for proper drivers in the HP website but it does not list nor will it detect it when I used their auto detect software. Can anyone get me headed in the right direction? Thakns in advance for any help !

PS: inter Q9550, gigabyte EP45-DS3R motherboard,4GB ram, 750P.S.

The data cable may have come loose.

I checked the sata cable and it's secure. Nero and IN CD are loaded on my hard drive but both are disabled because of all the trouble I had with them, might this be part of the problem? And once again thanks for the assistance!

Check if it is showing in the bios.

Update the firmware.
