networking

I have 2 Computers each has 2 Nic cards and a switch for each card. Is there a way to "combine" or have the system make them "see" each as 1 Nic card or transmit the data across both when transferring the files. Or is there another way to put it when i transfer files between the pc's so both switches and nic cards work at the same time. I had this working a year ago by bridging the connections but i had many problems to get it to act this way.
