Hi,

I've just got a Q6600 cpu(speedstepping G0) for my ASUS P5E-VM HDMI motherboard with a 8800gt. I've got 4x1gigs cheap ddr2 800mhz kingston value ram.
Right now it is stable at 3ghz with the settings shown below.

Lowering the cpu voltage will cause a stress test to fail.
Under load the voltage drops to about 1.4, which I assume is about normal.
I can just barely keep the cpu temperature under 65 C under stress tests. At idle it is abount 35 C.

Now, is it just me, or should I be able to run it stable under much lower vcore voltage? Any idea what the issue could be?

EDIT: The case is antec fusion v2(aka. NSK2400) with std. 430 Watt psu.
Thx

333x9 @ 1.55 is quite much. My first run was 333x9 @ 1.37 stable.
I'm doing 400x9 at 1.53
Try 400x8 @ 1.42 volts
Seems like you've bumped up several settings. One thing I found strange with my board is when I overvolt it, it crashes lol... did 400x8 with 1.5 and got BSOD, so I've reset it and start with .10 increments.

Manually set your Dram Timing, use CPU-Z to check your ram timming and enter those details into the bios. You can tweak for tighter timmings later.

What heatsink are you using? make sure it is sufficient to cool your cpu.

With 400x8@ 1.42 volt and everything else on auto, the computer wont start. Turing the voltage up to 1.7 does nothing to help this. Tried different other things as overvoltage dram, fsb, manual dram settings... Nothing helped. Turing it to 390x8 @ 1.42 does start and boot windows. However it crashes and restarts the computer during prime95. Talk about a fsb wall.

When you are saying 1.37, is that what is set in the bios, or the actual voltage during load?

I'm using the Ninja Mini. I've also turned up all the fans for now.

I'm thinking maybe I'm pushing my psu too hard?
Got 2 500gb hdd, 1 dvd drive, 8800gt bfg oc, use wireless mouse, bluetooth keyboard, 2 120 mm fans, 1 80mm fan. And then my q6600@ 3ghz on 1.4-1.55 volt.
According to http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine this needs a ~400 watt psu.
Mine is 430 watt and gpu is not running at full speed with prime95 test, but I'm guessing there could be more to it than just the total wattage?
