Sounds like you need a better graphics card. Please list the model numbers of all your system components.

Yes, the e2180 is way faster overall and runs a lot cooler.

You need to be sure that your motherboard can support the e2180. If its an older 775 socket mobo it may not.

You should at least be able to go to a Presler cpu, maybe a 940 or a 950 and that will give you a decent boost of power over the 805.

Check the motherboards manual or the manufactures website for a list of compatible cpus and go from there.

P.S. I read in another post about if you are planning on oc'ing your cpu then you will be better off getting the e2160. I dont know from first hand experience but its something I read and there were others that agreed. If you are going stock speeds then go with the e2180...

What MB do you have? An 805D running on an 945~965 chipset will overclock from 2.66GHz to 3.4-3.5 on air. Even at 3.2GHz the 805D is more snappy and capable than default. Like runswindows95 said, the e2180 is much better than a 805D... And lke Mondoman asked, it would be nice to know what MB/chipset you have.

iam using nforce 630i (by manli), Tt V1 cpu fan, so its better if i opt. for e2160? or perhaps xeon 3310 or 3330? (my partner office have server branch that has it)

I would start by overclocking your 805D to something like 3.3GHz, and see how the games perform with that. If you then upgrade to an e2160 and overclock that to 3GHz (1333MHz FSB), that should roughly double the performance of the overclocked 805D (but the speedup will not be as much for gaming).
To get much improvement after that, you'll need a faster graphics card.

You may need to change your motherboard but it will be worth it.

The e2160 is better for overclocking so I hear, the e2180 is better if you want higher speed without overclocking.

That was a debate in another thread I read a few days ago...
