I posted a question a few days ago about getting some recommendations on PSUs I'd been looking at. Out of the ones I had been looking at I was recommended this one:

http://www.buy.com/prod/corsair-vx [...] 52646.html which is $70 after MIR.

I found this one from Newegg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817139005 which is $75 after MIR and their special promo code I got for their current 24 hour sale.

So I'm tempted to go with the 2nd one because I'll be buying from Newegg and I just have had good experience with them in the past. And I get a 650W PSU instead of a 550W PSU for only $5 more. My concern is the quality of the 650W. I've been told on here several times Corsair is a good brand but is THIS PS a good one from this brand?

Thanks for your help.

The TX650 seems to be a good unit based on a silentpcreview.com article by Mike Chin written 3-16-08. I think SPCR has the best PSU reviews online. Head over there and read the review which is on the home page just a scroll down.

Thanks for the review site Whiznot. I didn't know about the site and it seems like they have some good reviews. I've usually just gone to JonnyGuru.com.

I'll probably be going with the VX550 because I read the e-mail a day late from Newegg and the promo code expired so it's back up to $100 and I just don' tthink an extra $30 is worth it for a basic system.

I appreciate the help though.

I was looking at that same one but all of the power supply calculators said my system, even factoring in overclocking and USB joysticks and steering wheels, was going to be under 400w peak. I just got the 550 and am just gonna claim the $10 rebate.
