Help: MyBook Essential Edition was very slowly ..?!

Hi,

I got MyBook Essential Edition (1TB) but it was very slowly
File system is FAT32 (Transfer rate ~6 MB/S) and i had format it to NTFS
and know the (Transfer rate ~18 MB/S) !!
And i had a OLD TOSHIBA HDD (80GB) (Transfer rate ~40 MB/S)
See difrents..?

what can i do ..?
(I have Qosmio Labtop - Vista Ultimate Sp1 - USB 2.0)
