Hello.  I recently purchased a Asus Maximus Formula Motherboard and am looking for compatable DVD/CD drives.  I am looking at the Sony DRU190A 20X DVD Rewritable Drive - 20x DVD±R, 8 DVD+RW, 6x DVD-R, 8x DVD±R DL, ATAPI/EIDE, Black, but I'm not sure it will work.  (Motherboard has 1 IDE Header, but drive is EIDE.)  I'm a bit of a novice building my first computer and need some expert opinions.  Thanks

This drive will probably work with your board via IDE but this is an old form of connection which has been more or less replaced by SATA. Look for any drive that is SATA and that supports CD and DVD (look under the specs). Unless of course you want 2 seperate drives, one for CD and one for DVD. I have the Samsung SH-S203 sata which does everything I need and I am very pleased with.
