is there a software that will create a graph of my PC usage?
specificaly, I would like to graph the percentage of the L2 cache filled each moment, the FSB load each moment, the memory speed % each moment, etc
I want to diagnoze what is the bottleneck of my system
my system is Intel T2050 dual core 1.6, 2GB RAM, 5.400rpm disk (laptop)
I load 50 webpages in opera 9.26 and my system becomes very irresponsive
I was adviced I need more RAM, I upgraded from 1GB to 2GB and I saw NOTHING
so, now, that I am about to upgrade to a desktop, I need want to know where I should put my money on, RAM? fast HD? fast CPU? I really need to see some responsiveness (no video editing here, but heavy multitasking, web browsing, MS Office, lots of progs on tray, etc)
PS: I really believe that opera and other programs are buggy though
^Yeah, at 50 webpages even my Q6600 @ 3.6 becomes unresponsive for a while.
You probably won't have any luck with trying to graph specific subsystems for the CPU, but Windows Performence (Under Admin tools) will be able to graph CPU usage.
It could be that Opera is has a small paging file set up on the HDD, and with laptop hard drives not being the fastest in the world, it could be bogging down the whole operation. You shouldn't expect to be able to run 50 pages open at a time anyway (I don't see how that could be productive whatsoever). Check to see if the access light is lit when your running those 50 pages.
