the lenticular on my panasonic recently got shredded ( Summer's here and
kids in the house). I needed advice where to get one in Los
Angeles/culver city area. The local service techs want close
to $500 to replace this large piece of plastic. My TV is 3 yrs old and
cost $2000 new so I can't just toss it.
Thanks.

Call Pana Directly in New Jersy and ask them the price plus shipping. Then
decide if you are comfortable with the need to
disassemble the set, remove the part, eveluate the fresnal for damages, then
price that item out also. What Exactly does the $500 include?? Both screens
or just a Lenticular, by way of your post?? Highly probable that the
Fresnals has sustained damages, due to the kids.

the fresnal is fine. We can see the images for now. they just look very
bright. The $500 was for the lenticulr only. I was hoping that there
was a site where one may order a similar plastic piece with our the
name brand association. The Panasonic site has a Screen for ~$170+ S&H.

Make precise measurements of the H & W of the screen and call the local
shops and see if they have a scrapper. Most brands lenticular screens
should work fine, as they are very similar. Someone may have one that they
will sell you cheap. They are very fragile and will split easily, so be
careful.
