I am unable to fathom out which cable goes where on my new motherboard MSI M7211

This is the standard Intel connection.
If you connect them wrong, the computer will not start and it can burn out the motherboard!
It happened to me. So double check your work.

If you should smell silicon burning, immediately turn off the power to the computer.
