I would like to upgrade my CPU/RAM for Dell Dimension 8400.

What is the maximum CPU speed and maximum amount of RAM I can upgrade it to?

What kind of RAM specifically I should buy? I currently have 1GB of RAM(2 slots of 512). Would I ahve to through this RAM out or can I just get lets say another 2GB for one of the 2 slots?

Thank you

Depending on what CPU you have you may be able to upgrade it, but not by much. I think they maxed out at a P4 3.4Ghz. I used to have one and I still have most of it lying around. I put the cpu in something else. As far as ram, yeah almost any kind of ddr2 533 will work. I am sure one of the many brands has issues.
