I have a Gibaybyte GA-MA78GM-S2H and I was going to use by DVI to component adapter from my previous ATI 9600 series board. However, it would work. I suspected that the analog pins on the the DVI connector weren't being used. I posted this question at Gigabyte and got a response that confirms that the analog DVI signals are available. The monitor I have takes either an SVGA or a DVI input, so I am going to either purchase an ATI Radeon 3400, 3600 or 3800 series PCI-E board or buy an SVGA to component cable or rewire to use the HDMI output.
