I am building a new PC for video editing with a I7 940 processor and I want to use the an 80GB Intel SSD for the OS and programs. The plan is to put the video data on a 1 or 1.5TB Segate HD. Any special consideration for doing this i should be aware of? System will have 8GB of DDR3 and probably 1 Nvidia 275 card
If you've got the $$$ to spend. Get a Raptor drive for your OS and programs, put the windows/scratch disks on the SSD. All video data should go on it as well. You also want 6GBs (2GBs x 3) of ram, not 8GBs.

X25-m works just fine as a OS/program drive. Nothing special needs to be done.
Three minor things:
1) There is a firmware update that improves performance on the X25-M. Do that first.
2) The 2.5" form factor may cause a mounting problem. On my Antec solo, I just drilled another pair of holes in the supplied mounting tray and attached the drive to it.
3) 80gb might not be enough space for your apps.
I wanted more space, so I bought a second one and got 160gb by using raid-0. Performance improved also.
As an aside, I think the i7-940 is very much not worth it.
The 920 overclocks to 965 speeds(3.3) just by changing the BCLK to 160.
