Hello all!

I'm building the following machine and looking for advice on the best value (tight budget) in RAM for this system.

I'm thinking either 4 Gig or possibly 8 Gig  (4 gig somewhat more expensive RAM, or 8 GiG cheaper RAM.)

MoBo- EVGA 750i FTW

Proc- C2D E6850

Vid- SLI 9600GT's w/512 RAM

PSU- OCZ GameXtreme

PS-  This is for a pure gaming rig, trying to get the best gaming rig for minimum investment, advice very welcome!!

Whats my best bet for RAM?  I dont really know anything about RAM specs so talk to me, but keep it simple enough for me to understand!

Thanks!

Ray

Just make sure your RAM has a spec voltage of 1.8V or 1.9V -- any higher and your're just buying lower-quality overclocked RAM.  Stay away from OCZ RAM, as they have more compatibility problems.

I'd strongly suggest going with an Intel chipset board (e.g. P35) and not go SLI.  SLI is almost never worthwhile, as the next batch of video cards will include a single-card solution that outperforms your SLI.

The 9600gt in sli is very good so your wrong there, however I still might wait a couple of weeks for the ati 48xx series release.
