Gotta respect ASUS for being creative and trying out new things, even if this never makes it to market:
94k in 3DMark03 and 25k in 3DMark06

As Asus' triple MXM HD 3850, branded Trinity, has raised a lot of eyebrows and questions. Our colleagues from Nordichardware managed to get exclusive benchmarks of this, let's just say interesting card. Asus' Trinity scores 94,110 in 3DMark 03 with Intel QX9770 at 4600MHz and 24,909 in 3DMark06 with the same CPU.

As for the specs of these RV670 MXM modules, the core, or to be more precise "cores", work at 668MHz and it comes with 512MB of GDDR3 memory running at 1656MHz, of course for each MXM module. This all adds to 1536MB of memory on a single card. According to the results, this card claims the throne of the highest single card score using an air cooled system. Of course, the Trinity was overclocked to 769/1053MHz, which was the maximum setting in the Catalyst Control Center.

According to the post over at Nordichardware, this card can go even higher and that overclock was limited by the lack of software tools and nothing else. We will surely see more of this card soon. You can find the original article here and the screenshots here.

It might be able to come close to the highest single-card score, but this thing won't end up being that fast in games unless AMD can further improve the drivers.

I just thought this was a cool concept, not necessarily the fastest or most practical solution out there.

Probably because this is a special one-off/limited type product only given to the OC gods like Kinc who works for NordicHardware, to make PR records.

guys i dont know about you but my jaw hit the floor after finding out 24909 was not a typo. Im not fanboy of anthing by far im just completly shocked that a xfire(or sli even) could get scores like this with out doing a completely outrageous OC and cooling job. I agree I would like to see some real world games benches but damn that looks nice so far.
