Need help, i am about to have an Xigmatek HDT-s1283 and i am looking for the best way to appy the arctic silver 5. i have never applied thermal paste before and wantd to know the best way to do it on a HDT heatsink, cause i'd rather not have to keep remounting it. I have read different ways to apply it but want to get it right the first time..any help is much appreciated.

That's exactly what I did with my Xigmatek S2383. Works great, make sure you get the retention bracket.

tried to fill in the gaps than wipe off the pipes while trying to keep the gaps flush with them which is kinda hard with how tacky ac5 is..than i put 2 lines on , 1 on each of the middle heat pipe seperators, around half the length of the processor....maybe a little to thick on the 2 lines, and couldn't get the gaps perfectly flush with finger in a latex glove as it just starts to get on the heat pipes which i don't think i want to do right...i tried this method on the last to pictures on this site http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=170&Itemid=38&limit=1&limitstart=5
