GA-P35-DS3L : BSOD After XP SP2 Installed.
The blue screen error message disappears too fast to read.
Booting in fail-safe mode doesn't help.

Need SP2 in order to install chip drivers from Gigabyte disk.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

I am using VISTA at the moment, but I'll try to remember

Right click my computer
Click Advanced System settings
Clixk the Advanced Tab
Under Start Up and recovery, uncheck Automatically restart.

Now you can read the OS stop message (BSOD)

Set your RAM voltage and timings in BIOS.  PC6400 is 2.0-2.1v.  Set timings to 5-5-5-15 and adjust when stable.  List your system specs.

Thanks for the suggestions. To get to My Computer I'll need to reinstall windows. Sort of a pain. It takes about an hour to install. Don't see another choice, though.

Unplug everything except the CPU/HSF, video card and 1 DIMM RAM.  Try and boot into BIOS.

Ah... you tried to install the HD Audio drivers. Install only the Chipset and LAN drivers before installing SP2.

I thought I didn't install the drivers which are marked "Install SP2 before installing this driver".
Does SP1 need to be installed before SP2? Or is it incorporated in it?

Would copying the XP installation disk onto a USB thumb drive speed up installation? Or is this illegal/unfeasible?

The error is c000021a
The system manager initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000026c

A reinstall of XP followed by SP1 only solved the problem. I backed up with XR-2 to avoid the lengthy installation of XP in the future. Chip drivers will load properly with SP1.
